ASPAC HR Leadership Alignment Workshop | Hyatt Regency Midtown Kuala Lumpur | Executive Facilitation by Nick Jonsson
Hyatt HR Leadership Alignment Workshop
ASPAC HR Leadership Alignment Day
Hyatt Regency Midtown Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | 19 March, 2026
Nick Jonsson was invited by Hyatt to facilitate a full-day leadership workshop as part of the ASPAC HR Leadership Alignment Day, hosted at HyattRegency Midtown Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The session brought together regional HR leaders for a structured working day focused on strengthening alignment, clarity, and forward momentum across the Asia-Pacific region.’
Overview
This was a full-day facilitated workshop (09:00 - 18:00) designed as a facilitated, interactive working session rather than a traditional presentation.
The intention was to create a space where leaders could step back from day-to-day operations and focus on:
Aligning around what matters most as a leadership team
Strengthening clarity across regions and functions
Moving from discussion into focused execution
The day combined structured facilitation with open dialogue, ensuring both depth of conversation and practical outcomes.
Approach
The workshop was built around a simple but powerful principle:
Moving from activity → to ownership → to measurable outcomes
Rather than delivering content, Nick facilitated a process that helped the group:
Clarify priorities
Surface key challenges
Focus on what would create the greatest impact
Translate ideas into clear next steps
The structure of the day followed a clear progression:
Clarity → Focus → Decision → Action
Facilitated Experience
Throughout the day, participants were actively engaged in a series of structured working sessions, including:
1. Creating Clarity
Leaders reflected on current challenges and aligned on what may be limiting progress, helping create shared visibility across the group.
2. Defining Priorities
The group explored where focused effort would create the most meaningful impact, encouraging disciplined thinking and trade-offs.
3. Structured Decision-Making
Using simple but effective frameworks, participants evaluated different initiatives and aligned on key focus areas.
4. From Ideas to Action
Discussions were translated into clear ownership, practical next steps, and a forward-looking plan to maintain momentum.
The emphasis throughout was on focus, accountability, and practical execution, rather than theory.
Facilitation Style
Nick’s facilitation combines:
Executive coaching principles
Psychological safety and open dialogue
Business-focused thinking
Structured and practical frameworks
His role is to create the conditions for leaders to:
Speak openly
Challenge ideas constructively
Think clearly
Commit to action
This ensures that the value comes from the group itself, rather than from external input alone.
Outcome
By the end of the day, the leadership team had defined:
3–5 priority initiatives
A focused 90-day execution roadmap
Named owners accountable for delivery
A 30 / 60 / 90-day review cadence
In addition, the workshop strengthened the leadership foundation across the group, including:
Stronger alignment across regions
Greater clarity on priorities
A shared understanding of direction
Increased ownership and accountability
This ensured that the work did not end in the room, but translated into focused execution and measurable progress in the months that followed
A Note of Gratitude
Nick is grateful to Hyatt for the opportunity to support their leadership team, and for the openness, engagement, and professionalism shown throughout the day.
